Expo in Toulouse: Escher at Bazacle, a successful dive into a world of illusions.
For the first time in France, the major exhibition dedicated to the Dutch artist and genius M.C. Escher arrives in Toulouse!
From December 20, the Espaces EDF Bazacle will host M.C. Escher in Toulouse, a major exhibition dedicated to Escher, the artist of impossible geometries and worlds, one of the most popular artists of the 20th century and a star of the global box office.
The exhibition event produced by Arthemisia, the leading Italian producer of art exhibitions, will bring together more than 100 works by the emblematic Dutch artist and invites everyone, young and old, lovers of art, science, nature and architecture to (re)discover the unique work of this brilliant artist who knew – like no other – how to take the public into his universe.
Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898 – 1972) is world-famous for his enigmatic tessellations and paradoxical drawings, executed with incredible detail and mathematical precision, to create and construct impossible worlds. Escher had a natural intuition for mathematical drawings and was fascinated by the repetitive patterns of interlocking tiles and paradoxical representations of infinity. Exploring the intersection of art, mathematics, science and poetry, Escher's works have fascinated and amazed generations of artists, architects, mathematicians, musicians and designers.
A one-of-a-kind artist who said that "wonder is the salt of the earth", Escher expanded the imagination and perspectives of generations of art lovers with works in which everything is connected: science, nature, analytical rigor and aesthetic beauty.
In Toulouse, through an exhibition of more than 100 works, accompanied by educational lights, videos and immersive rooms, Escher's entire artistic career is presented, from his beginnings to his travels in Italy, including the different artistic techniques that he engaged in throughout his life and that made him a unique artist.
Starting on the 20th of December 2024.
Arthemisia : Espace EDF Bazacle, Toulouse, dal 20 dicembre 2024 al 30 marzo 2025
